Most dog owners will agree that owning a dog has its high and lows but nothing can compare with  the joy a  puppy brings.

A puppy fills a gap you did not even realize is there. It was love at first sight, the furry bundle cuddling up to me, the tip of a pink tongue showing.A live, cuddly, little teddy bear with big brown eyes regarding me curiously. I was hooked for life.

And I am sure I am not the only one who felt head over heals in love with a puppy.People gravitate towards puppies. Few people can stand a trusting , totally depending helpless little puppy.

So when you decide to get a puppy, be prepared for the ride!

How do they manage it?

Let us look at some of the ways puppies change our lives and bring us endless hours of joy.

You can make a fool of yourself with a puppy and it will think you are extremely funny

Puppies are eager to please and love all forms of attention

A puppy is always, always glad to see you and don’t mind you going of about how tough your day was.

Taking your puppy out for a walk guarantees a lot for attention. People are suckers for the attention of a little puppy.

A puppy is a warm bundle of fur snuggling up to you.

A puppy think you are the best thing that has ever happened to it.

When you have a puppy, you know you are the center of this little dog’s world, you are a hero to it.

A puppy makes you laugh, even when you do not feel like it.

A puppy sees a world where everything is a new adventure.

Playing with a puppy in the park is good exercise.

A puppy can introduce you to new friends, dog owners have a special connection

Maybe what draws us to a puppy is the way it gives and keeps on giving affections, fun and joy. And all it wants in return is a safe place to sleep, food and attention.

But, before you take the puppy home, be sure know what you are taking on. That cute little bundle with the innocent eyes will grow up. That adoring little puppy I fell in love with grew into a huge, beautiful Rottweiler. Remember, when you get a puppy, you sign on for a commitment of between 8 to 16 years. It takes work and time if you want an obedient well adjusted dog.

So think careful before you take the leap. And if you do bring a puppy home – be prepared for an unique, joyful experience.
